Women shouldn't be conscious about their post-birth bodies, says Bethany Hamilton

Unlike most mothers out there, "Soul Surfer" Bethany Hamilton is proud of her post-baby weight, and she is not going to jump on any diet fad or crazy exercise routine anytime soon just to get her body back to its pre-pregnancy stage.

On her Instagram page (@bethanyhamilton), Hamilton proudly shared a photo of herself while preparing to surf. She was not conscious about appearing too fat or flubby while wearing her surfing uniform. She wrote: "I've seen many comments on 'her post birth body.' I find it silly for us as women to worry about our body as we grow a human being inside of us! It is such an amazing feat to go through pregnancy. And then you have this wonderful lil being that is part you and part of your significant other. It's natural and HEALTHY to gain weight."

"Here I am two months after giving birth to Tobias. I feel great and healthy! It takes 9 months for our bodies to change and grow. So I can say it's alright to take your time, maybe about 9 months, to get back to the new, healthy, beautiful, and normal you," she added.

The photo has received over a hundred thousand likes already, with Hamilton's fans echoing their approval and cheering her on for being such a good role model.

"You are a breath of fresh air. So wise, positive and (such) an inspiration," someone wrote. Another person even added: "Beautiful woman and mother! Thank you for your post! It encourages all moms who have had a difficult time losing the baby weight. But to have the ability to carry such a miracle is something I will never regret!"
