The explosive eighth and final season of "The Vampire Diaries" is about to start, and details about the hot and steamy season are starting to pour online.

Melty revealed the titles of the first three episodes of season 8, which hint at the plot of the show's upcoming installment.

According to the report, the premiere episode of the season is titled "Hello, Brother." Fans of the series could remember that it was the same line that Damon (Ian Somerhalder) told his younger brother Stefan (Paul Wesley) when he returned to Mystic Falls in season 1. But Damon used to be the dark, ruthless vampire during that time. Could this mean that Damon will return to the dark side in the upcoming season?

The title for episode 2 is "Today Will Be Different," which fans could recognize as the phrase written by Elena (Nina Dobrev) in her journal after her parents died. Since Dobrev was confirmed to be a part of the finale season, this could be the episode where her character could wake up after a long time of slumber.

Then the third episode for the upcoming season will be "You Decided that I Was Worth Saving." This is another statement taken from the first season. According to the report, the title could be hinting that Stefan, Bonnie (Kat Graham), and Caroline (Candice King) will try to save Damon and Enzo (Michael Malarkey).

Meanwhile, The CW president Mark Pedowitz told the press during the 2016 Television Critics Association summer panel that he is in full support of bringing back Dobrev in the series.

"I always like to have Nina. Who doesn't like to have Nina on the show? She was a great person to have. She was a great spokesperson for The CW and for The Vampire Diaries. She made a career decision that, for her, was probably the right decision but we'd love to have her back," the network said as reported by E! News. But in case the negotiation with the actress fails, he also believes that executive producer Julie Plec could still come up with the best finale for the series.

"The Vampire Diaries" season 8 is slated to premiere on Oct. 21, on The CW.
