'Switched at Birth' season 4 renewed? Will Daphne end up in jail in tonight's season 3 finale?

The ABC family drama "Switched at Birth" is currently on its third season with only one episode left before it wraps up. The last episode, "And Life Begins Right Away" will air on August 18. Many are wondering if the show will be renewed for season 4.

The official synopsis of the season 3 finale episode reads: "Everyone is looking forward to commencement until shocking news about Carlton threatens to overshadow their special day. Daphne fears her future is in jeopardy when her past catches up with her. John and Kathryn are not happy when they learn about Bay's non-traditional post-graduation plans. Meanwhile, Mary Beth is pleased when Travis's wish comes true."

According to CarterMatt.com, Daphne might go to jail. She is "going to have to atone for some of her own misgivings, and this could lead to an arrest right at a milestone moment in her life." If this does happen, will "Switched at Birth" end with Daphne behind bars? It surely won't be the ending everyone wants to see.

"Switched at Birth" is another successful show from ABC, just behind "Pretty Little Liars." CarterMatt.com says that the show won't be going anywhere, given that no one wants to see Daphne's story end this way.

However, there's no news yet for a new season renewal. Given that season 3 had a dip of viewership from season 2. It has a series low of 1.13 million viewers in episode 18 and it only hit 0.4 million in the 18-49 demographic.

Nonetheless, fans of the show can still hope that the show will be renewed for another season. Usually, new season orders are done before the season finale airs.

"Switched at Birth" is a story about two teenage girls who were switched at birth. They discovered that they ended up in each others' families when they were born. Catch the season 3 finale on August 18, 8/7 central on ABC.
