The hotly-anticipated action video game "Star Wars: Battlefront" is under tight wraps. EA and DICE are keeping details about the game down to a minimum, which makes gamers all the more hooked up to it. But with the news that its gameplay trailer received a standing ovation during a secret presentation at the 2015 Game Developers' Conference, there are more reasons to get excited about the "Star Wars" inspired shooter.

The game must be shaping up pretty well because it reportedly generated more than just a round of applause for its raw showing. It was indeed a "great show" and EA COO Peter Moore must be all smiles as he informed fans through Twitter of the "superb ovation" the newest gameplay footage of the title got during its time at the GDC.

Bearing this in mind, fans speculate — or rather expect — that the footage will find its way out in the open soon. Undoubtedly, there was a big hype and massive curiosity that sprouted after the event, done behind closed doors, but the gaming community would also want to see where DICE and EA are at in the development of the highly-anticipated game.

"Star Wars: Battlefront" was introduced with a trailer during last year's Electronic Entertainment Expo. It is expected that this year's trade show scheduled from June 16 to 18 will show more exciting details about the reboot.

The trailer is said to be the representation of the video game and how "Battlefront" would look like. EA and DICE are using Frostbite 3 engine for the game and is rumored to give major focus to expansion packs.

The title will be released this year although an exact date is yet to be determined. It is expected to show up around the end of 2015, close to the premiere of the much-awaited film "Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens."
