Sony Xperia Z3 preorder and price: T-Mobile offers device free with 2-year contract?

U.S. carrier T-Mobile will reportedly offer the new Sony Xperia Z3 for free. Consumers will not have to shell out a cent if they want to take home the latest flagship smartphone from Sony.

T-Mobile opened the preorder for the device on Oct. 15 and stated that it will offer the device exclusively in its network and preorder of the device will start and the handset will be available on the 29th.

Interested buyers will just have to sign a two-year contract with the carrier. The handset will be available for $26.25 per month for 24 months. The handset is also available for $630 off-contract.

Although T-Mobile announced that it will release the Sony Xperia Z3 exclusively, reports stated that Verizon Wireless and Sprint will also offer the device. Verizon is rumored to offer Xperia Z3v or a rehashed Xperia Z2 for $199 on with two-year contract starting this week later this month.

Sony Xperia Z3 packs features such as 5.2-inch Full HD screen display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 801SoC clocked at 2.5GHz with 3GB RAM, Adreno 330 GPU, Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS, 16GB and 32GB storage variants with microSD slot up to 128GB additional storage, 20.7 MP snapper at the back with 4K video capture, digital image stabilization, High Dynamic Range mode (HDR), and video sharing. It also comes with 2.2 MP selfie camera and 3,100 mAh battery capacity.

Xperia handsets has been well-regarded by the tech reviewers being one of the top smartphones in the market although the sales did not reflect this fame.

Meanwhile, Sony also announced the Xperia Z3 Compact, which is the smaller and lower grade version of the Xperia Z3. Sony Xperia Z3's little brother, Xperia Z3 Compact, costs $529.99, or $477 for students.

The Xperia Z3 Compact comes with a 4.6-inch 1,280 x 720 display, a Snapdragon 801 processor, a 20.7-megapixel rear-facing camera capable of capturing 4K video and Android 4.4 KitKat. The device will be rolled out globally and will concentrate on emerging markets.
