Android 5.0 Lollipop OS update for Samsung Galaxy Note 4 followed by Note Edge

With the latest versions of the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS update being rolled out to various Android-based devices, it will not be long before Samsung will update its own line of gadgets. The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will reportedly receive it first followed by the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge.

Although Samsung has not officially confirmed its plans in delivering the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS in the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge, it is a no brainer that the company will be updated to the newest mobile firmware. What is unconfirmed is the release of the update.

Some reports claim that since the Note 4 and the Note Edge share similar specs and features, the two handsets will receive the updates at the same time. However, others insist that that will be too much for Samsung to handle.

Meanwhile, Samsung already updated the Galaxy S5 to the latest firmware. There is a high possibility that the tech company will follow its previous pattern of release, updating the smartphones in Poland first then in parts of Europe, Malaysia, and South Korea. The United States may have to wait a little longer.

It is expected that Samsung will roll out the update slowly since the company has to work on quite a number of countries and carriers. It may take months before the update rollout will be completed. In addition, Samsung follows a progressive rollout wherein it updates devices in phases and garners more logs and tweaks before distributing it to the next batch of devices. It then repeats the same process. This means that the last batch may get a different Android update from the first wave.

Samsung has not confirmed whether it will roll out the Android 5.0.1 and 5.0.2 versions. The latest flavors of the Android OS are also receiving criticisms because of the bugs and issues. There are rumors that Samsung will wait for a more stable version of Android.
