"Ricky and Morty" fans are in the waiting game for its season 3 premiere. The show's followers already know that there is a third season and are speculating that it is still in its production stage. The season is expected to arrive next year.

When season 2 ended, the closing credits of the finale showed Mr. Poopybutthole, and according to him, the next season will arrive after a year and a half. That said, fans are expecting that "Rick and Morty" will be back by March 2017.

However, DenofGeek reported there is a possibility that it may arrive earlier than expected. Dan Harmon, co-creator of the show, said during the Magic City Comic Con last January that they are planning a release before the year ends, which truly made the fans excited.

Harmon added, "It's an honor to see 'Rick and Morty' join the exclusive club of shows with over 19 episodes. It's time to demand that the network allow us to draw the characters going to Hawaii."

The co-creator also mentioned that there will be new writers, specifically, female writers. This is to have gender balance, as well as to have diversity in story. The episodes so far show that they were made by males, and female writers have started noticing it.

Since news is scarce about the upcoming season, no one knows exactly the plot it will have. However, the community is speculating that the granddad and grandson duo will be facing the Galactic Federation, while another theory suggests that the two will be inhabiting the three planets that the federation has no direct control over, Ecumenical News reported.

For the meantime, while fans are waiting for the show, they can spend a little time reading "Rick and Morty's" 14th issue, where the duo witnesses the start of a new alien invasion. Tom Fowler created the story and artwork is courtesy of CJ Cannon.

Fans can expect 14 episodes for the third season of "Rick and Morty."
