According to Gamepur, one of the most wanted titles that fans want to see on the current-gen Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles would either be a remastered version of "Read Dead Redemption," or a much-anticipated sequel to the original.

Although still considered as a speculation, fans may see one or the other sooner than they think. According to the latest rumor, developer Rockstar Games could be currently working on "Red Dead Redemption" project.

Apparently, while the publisher has not named the projects currently under development, it could either be a current "Red Dead Redemption" (either a sequel or current-gen reboot), or the next "Grand Theft Auto" installment. Take Two Interactive President Karl Slatoff was quoted in a recent company earnings call for the second quarter of fiscal year 2016 as saying that the company is currently developing titles under their franchises.

Slatoff said, "Our worldwide development teams are working on numerous unannounced projects, including new intellectual properties, and offerings from our established franchises."

Take Two Interactive is the parent company of Rockstar Games.

Meanwhile, a report from WCCF Tech hinted that if a tease by a former Rockstar Games employee is to be believed, "Red Dead Redemption 2" is currently in the works. Ex-Rockstar Games employee Danny Ross was asked about it in a recent Reddit AMA, to which he reportedly obliquely referred to an "RDR 2" hint. Ross had been a staff at the company and had even been featured on radio shows in the "Grand Theft Auto" franchise through another radio talk show host, Lazlow Jones.

However, the rumors of "Red Dead Redemption 2" remain as hearsay, since Rockstar Games has not yet announced any details. Meanwhile, observers note that Rockstar Games has been indirectly teasing fans about its upcoming projects.
