It seemed that the release of the premium model of the Samsung Galaxy S5 dubbed as Galaxy F has been delayed as the reported Galaxy Alpha will come with lower specs and features. Samsung Galaxy F or Galaxy S5 Prime was rumored to be the all metal version of the current Galaxy S5 in order to battle the Apple's iPhone.

The upcoming Galaxy Alpha was reported to be the true Galaxy F or Galaxy S5 Prime. Apparently, that will not be the case as the Alpha will pack a 4.8-inch 720p display, according to the Samsung's Developer Console.

Aside from an inferior screen display, the Galaxy Alpha is also reported to pack 32GB internal storage but will not come with the usual microSD slot, which is very unlikely as this additional and removable storage is one of the features that Samsung boasts against Apple's iPhone.

Meanwhile, the handset is reported to be launched a month before the release of the rumored iPhone 6 to take a bite on Apple's sales. Reports claimed that the Samsung Galaxy F release date is slated for Aug. 13 and that the handset will be available for purchase a month after to counter Apple's iPhone 6.

According to Korean media source ETNews, the alleged Samsung Galaxy Alpha will be all metal and will come with a 4.7-inch AMOLED display, Samsung Exynos Octa 5 chipset and will be powered by the new Snapdragon 805 processor introduced in the Galaxy S5 LTE-A. Reports state that Samsung's decision to encase the smartphone in a metal housing is to battle with iPhone 6, which long boasts its aluminum casing that fans fancied.

This is not the first time that images and reports about the Samsung Galaxy F appeared online. Reliable tipster @evleaks repeatedly posted varying photos of the alleged Samsung Galaxy F in the past months. However, everything should be taken as a grain of salt until Samsung revealed official information.
