PlayStation Plus free games for September 2014 [List]: 'Velocity 2X', 'Sportsfriends,' 'Joe Danger' and more

The list of free games for PlayStation Plus this September has been released. While the past months' free games have disappointed subscribers, Sony is looking to redeem themselves this September.

The same goes for this month, Sony is giving away two free games for each PlayStation system. For subscribers who have the Vita, PS3 and PS4, that means they will get all six games this month.

For PS4, there's "Velocity 2X," a race in space combat where drivers have to beat the evil Vokh. Players can maneuver the ship or even fight on foot. It's the sequel to "Velocity Ultra." It also features action puzzles and shooter gameplay.

The other game for PS4 is "Sportsfriends." According to Sony, "Sportsfriends is a compendium of award-winning local multiplayer games for living rooms, parties, and even backyards. Featuring: retro-styled fighting game BaraBariBall, QWOP-like pole vault dueling game Super Pole Riders, high-velocity sports game Hokra, and face-to-face physical party game Johann Sebastian Joust. All the games are playable with the DualShock 4 wireless controller, while Johann Sebastian Joust can be further enhanced by the PlayStation Move Motion Controller."

For PS Vita and PS3, there's "PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale" where Sony characters from different games go on a fighting adventure. There's online battles, multiplayer action and group play. In addition, there's Hoard, an action-strategy game that lets you conquer a medieval kingdom. Here, players are the dragon.

For Vita, there's "Joe Danger" and "TxK." "Joe Danger" will "Take Joe on a ride from zero to hero in a game that lives up to its big brother with no compromises. Eye-popping super-smooth 60FPS graphics use only the very brightest colours on Vita's lovely screen, and we've revamped the JD control scheme so it plays just as nicely, too, including touch controls for the editor modes!" says Sony.

On the other hand, "TxK" is for the modern arcade shooter. It features "glowing vectors, explosive particle effects and a pulse-pounding soundtrack."

All six games are free for download to PlayStation Plus members this September.
