Not-so-good news to Nexus 5 users as most of the issues found in the handset after downloading the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS update are still unresolved, even after updating to the latest 5.0.1 version.

Since the release of Lollipop, the operating system has been plagued with criticisms because of the myriad of bugs. Some of the popular complaints of Nexus 5 users are the following:

Unable to connect to WiFi networks

One of the top issues complained about regarding the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS is the devices' inability to connect to Wi-Fi networks. Nexus 5 users shared that their smartphones are able to save networks and passwords but are unable to connect to the Internet.

Fast draining battery

Another common problem of Nexus 5 users is the depletion of battery power after installing the latest version of the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. According to users, the battery drains faster than usual.

Unstable OTA update yields to data loss

Users are constantly reminded to back up their files and apps stored in their smartphones before updating as some users who failed to do so lost some data while installing the new mobile software over-the-air.

Incompatible apps with Android 5.0

A minor problem encountered by Nexus 5 users is that some apps are still incompatible with the latest firmware. This means that some features of the apps may not run smoothly in the new mobile OS.

Unable to complete installation of Android 5.0 Lollipop OS

Some Nexus 5 users have already given up trying to install the latest Android 5.0 Lolipop OS as they were unable to complete the installation due to a "missing system.img" error message.

Google is attempting to resolve the aforementioned bugs and issues by rolling out the Android 5.0.1 OS update. However, some users are disappointed as they are still experiencing battery drain, app crashes, weak signals, inability to connect to Wi-Fi networks, and even spontaneous reboots of the device when it goes into sleep mode.

It is expected that the search giant will roll out more updates in the near future.
