New Planned Parenthood video shows technicians trying to 'get the hard stuff'

More shocking details about how Planned Parenthood conducts "harvesting" of foetal body parts during abortion procedures have come out, with a former employee of a partner company saying there's "incentive to try and get the hard stuff" because there is more money in it.

"For whatever we could procure, they [Planned Parenthood officials] would get a certain percentage," said Holly O'Donnell, who used to work as the procurement technician for StemExpress, a company located in Placerville, California, which partnered with Planned Parenthood.

She made the statements in the third graphic video released by The Center for Medical Progress showing technicians using tweezers to pick through aborted foetal tissue for baby parts. In one scene, a person is seen picking out a pair of intact kidneys and someone laughingly proclaims, "Five stars!"

"The main nurse was always trying to make sure we got our specimens. No one else really cared, but the main nurse did because she knew that Planned Parenthood was getting compensated," said O'Donnell.

O'Donnell said she actually fainted the first time she joined the organ extraction procedure and was even told by fellow technicians that "some of us don't ever get over it."

She said she worked for StemExpress for six months, helping the company identify the women who met the standards on foetal tissue. Later, she helped harvest foetal body parts.

In its website, StemExpress says it is in the business of supplying "human blood, tissue products, primary cells and other clinical specimens to biomedical researchers around the world."

However, according to O'Donnell, the company actually "hires procurement techs to draw blood and dissect dead foetuses and sell the parts to researchers."

"They've [StemExpress] partnered with Planned Parenthood and they get part of the money because we pay them to use their facilities. And they get paid from it. They do get some kind of benefit," she added.

Still, despite these recent revelations, a new poll showed that two-thirds of Americans refuse to support the move in Congress to defund Planned Parenthood, saying they are more inclined to believe Planned Parenthood's side of the story rather than what the damning videos have revealed.

According to the poll conducted by the liberal Hart Research Associates, two-thirds of voting Americans oppose the Republican proposal to strip Planned Parenthood of federal funding. The poll—which was commissioned by Planned Parenthood—asked this question to 800 registered voters by telephone.

The results of the poll is pretty similar to a YouGov poll conducted last week, which showed that 52 percent of Americans still have a favourable opinion of Planned Parenthood.

Meanwhile, Republican presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson believes that foetal tissue is not needed for medical research. Hence, he is questioning the motives of Planned Parenthood after seeing the undercover videos showing officials haggling over the price of foetal body parts.

"If it were the only way to do something, and there was no other way, that might be an argument," Carson told CNN. "Under these circumstances, it is not a legitimate argument."

Carson is one with those who are seeking to end federal funding for Planned Parenthood, even though the company says that most of that goes to women's health services such as breast cancer screenings and not abortion.

But Carson simply argued: "I thought they were supposed to get all those things based on Obamacare. Why do we need Planned Parenthood?"
