New leadership training for young people of faith in Birmingham
A new leadership course is helping young people in Birmingham to be agents of change in their communities.
The Catalyst course is open to people of faith aged between 20 and 30 who live, work and worship within one of the 13 central wards in Birmingham covered by the Near Neighbours programme.
They will gain hands on experience in leading a project and have the opportunity to learn from practitioners and experts in a range of fields.
The course will equip the participants in changing their communities together.
Director of Interfaith Relations for the Bishop of Birmingham, Dr Andrew Smith said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for young adults of different faiths aged from 20 to 30 to come together for an exciting course that will equip them to for leadership in a multi-faith city.
"The skills and attitudes they acquire will equip them for leadership within their faith community, within the charity sector or in the work place.”
The closing date for applications for Catalyst is 26 October and the programme will be launched on 24 November.
