Michael Schumacher has been battling his medical condition for eight months, but the car-racing legend is doing a lot better now than he was several months ago.

Schumacher had a skiing accident in France in Dec. 2013. His head hit a rock during their family holiday in the French Alps, and he suffered a severe head injury.  His condition required him to be placed in a medically induced coma. Investigations conclude that there was no foul play involved, it was just a mere accident.

He stayed at a French hospital for half a year, but when the Formula One racer started showing signs of recovery, he was moved to Lausanne, Switzerland to continue his recovery in a rehabilitation facility.

Now, it looks like Schumacher is doing a bit better because he is moving out of the Switzerland hospital and returning to his home in the Swiss City of Gland. In an official statement released on Tuesday, Schumacher's manager Sabine Kehm said:

Henceforth, Michael's rehabilitation will take place at his home. Considering the severe injuries he suffered, progress has been made in the past weeks and months. There is still, however, a long and difficult road ahead.

We would like to extend our gratitude to the entire team at CHUV Lausanne for their thorough and competent work. We ask that the privacy of Michael's family continue to be respected, and that speculation about his state of health are avoided."

A few weeks back, there was news that Schumacher's wife was selling the family's private jet to fund Schumacher's return home. The money, the rumors said, will be used to turn the portion of their home into his personal and private rehabilitation center. This information has never been confirmed.

Meanwhile, the family of Schumacher always asked for privacy, and everyone has respected their wishes. However, there are still some people who intrude, if only to get some information on the champion racer's condition. According to IBT, there was a journalist who dressed up as priest to be able to enter his hospital room. Also, someone had tried to sell a doctor's report about Schumacher's condition.
