The San Antonio Spurs leave the comfort of their home floor at the AT&T Center and head to South Beach today, Tuesday, to take on the Miami Heat for the first game of a very long eight-game road trip.

San Antonio is coming off a close 106–102 home win over the Los Angeles Lakers to extend its winning streak to four games, and the unbeaten streak at the AT&T Center to 28 games this season.

Leading the way against the Lakers was All-Star forward LaMarcus Aldridge who had 26 points, nine rebounds, and two assists in 34 minutes of action.

Aldridge is stepping up in a major way in the absence of veteran big man Tim Duncan, who is also set to miss the matchup with the Heat because of a right knee soreness, CBS Sports reported.

Helping Aldridge in the victory against Los Angeles was another All-Star in Kawhi Leonard, who had a double-double 20 points and 13 boards that came along with three assists and one steal.

The Spurs continue to be the second best team in the league and in the Western Conference holding a 43–8 record.

Meanwhile, the Heat lost their last outing and are aiming to protect their home floor against San Antonio.

Today's matchup with the Spurs is the last of a two-game home stand for Miami, which lost to the Los Angeles Clippers last Sunday, 100–93.

All-Stars Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade, together with point guard Goran Dragić, all scored 17 points to lead the charge for Miami.

Veteran forward Luol Deng added 15 points, eight rebounds, and one assist in a losing effort.

The defeat to the Clippers ended a two-game winning streak for the Heat, who are having a roller coaster ride this season going up and down in the Eastern Conference standings.

Miami is currently the fourth best team in the East with a 29–23 record, behind the Cleveland Cavaliers (37–14), Toronto Raptors (35–16), and the Boston Celtics (31–22).

The interconference matchup between the Spurs and Heat happens today, Jan. 9, at 8 p.m. EST. To watch via live stream, click here
