Mexico vs Honduras takes place in the CONCACAF World Cup 2014 Qualifying match on Friday night with Mexico coach Jose Manuel de la Torre feeling the weight of expectation on him once again for his team to deliver.

Mexico will be looking for a much needed first home win of the Hexagonal, and fans will be expecting nothing else but a victory. Until now Mexico have not even scored a home goal in the Hexagonal and they will be desperate to get back on track tonight.

At the start of the Hexagonal, Mexico were considered dead certs to qualify, however things have not gone to plan so far.

Mexico have repeatedly failed to break down opposition and have lacked the firepower to score in tight games when needed. They come into this match having only claimed one win and having scored only three goals until now from their six matches. That record leaves them third in the group, which is the final automatic qualification spot, but they sit perilously close to dropping out of the automatic places.

Honduras, their opposition tonight, are just a single point behind Mexico, and they know that if they can pull off a shock win tonight then they will leap frog Mexico into the auto-qualification spots.

There has been renewed hope in the Mexican camp recently after last month's 4-1 friendly win over the Ivory Coast, but that good result will not be worth anything if they lose tonight.

Earlier this year when the two sides met they ended deadlocked in a 2-2 draw, with Javier Hernandez of Manchester United scoring twice.
