'Married At First Sight' season 3 cancelled? renewal unsure as issues with previous couples

By the end of "Married at First Sight" season 2, Sean and Davina were the only couple to go their separate ways. However, according to reports, it looks like the other two pairs who chose to stay married ended up calling it quits, too, which had fans asking whether or not season 3 of the series will be happening.

Unfortunately for fans of Ryan D. and Jessica, things took a horrible turn for the couple with cheating issues and death threats and a restraining order getting involved. According to New York Post, Jessica fears for her life and security, which gives no hope to the relationship.

Meanwhile, The Gospel Herald reports that Jaclyn and Ryan N. also called it off. During the finale of "Married at First Sight" season 2, the two wanted to give their marriage a shot and get to know more about each other. Unfortunately, this led to a divorce as well.

With all the controversies surrounding the former couples in the series, it is unclear whether or not there is "Married at First Sight" season 3 in the offing. The Gospel Herald adds that circumstances as outrageous as that of Jessica and Ryan D. makes the show an unlikely candidate for a renewal.

On the bright side, season 1 couple Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner as well as Cortney Hendrix and Jason Carrion "are still going strong" with their second marriage anniversary nearing, which is proof that the show produced real couples, too.

Through the course of the series, the participating pairs earned a relatively huge fanbase, with viewers tuned in every week hoping for the couples that draw major chemistry to carry on with their romance and the pairs that just don't have the spark to give up.

In light of the recent events, "Married at First Sight" season 3 is a long shot and a tall order. However, should FYI decide to go for another risky run, with the network reportedly still actively looking for "brave single[s] looking for love," fans of the show can expect it to hit the small screen next year.
