There is an ongoing discussion on who will fill up the Los Angeles Lakers starting lineup, with talks focusing mainly on Nick Young and Lou Williams.

Just before the regular season starts, there has been talks around the camp of the Los Angeles Lakers about who will fill some of the most crucial positions in the game. One of the coveted spots is for a shooting guard/small forward position, which could possibly go to Young or Williams.

Both Young and Williams have an equal chance for the role, but the latter seems to be gaining more ground. Young has proven to be an asset as a starter in the game while Kobe Bryant was out. Now that Bryant is back in the game, the whole dynamics changes. This is when Williams steps-up, being a back-up to Jordan Clarkson or D'Angelo Russell on the guard position as Bryant takes small forward.

Rumors are also saying that Lakers is looking to trade Young this off-season due to his hefty salary.

According to Sports World, trading Young would free the team of the player's four-year contract worth $21 million, which will expire in 2018.

With the talks putting Young at a disadvantage, the player expresses that all he focuses on now is being better at his game.

Young said in his interview with InsideSoCal.com that the whole team has "something to prove." He also added that, "I went in my Batcave and got my mind right. I feel good. I got away from everything and got back to playing and enjoying it."

The news doesn't come easy too for Williams, who is doing his best to perform at the training camp. He wants for people not to pit him and Young against each other since they're both on the same team.

He said in his interview via InsideSoCal.com, "We both have similar games. We both like to score the basketball, that's been one of our strong suits. That's what we hang our hats on. But once we're on the court, I like to play team basketball."
