The LG G2 Mini is set to get the Lollipop makeover and it is scheduled this month. When it was released last year, the mid-range version of the 2013 flagship LG G2 had Android 4.4.2 KitKat running. Now, it is time for the 1-year-old device to make a big leap to the newer operating system from Google.

According to LG Greece, which shared the information via its response to an inquiry on Facebook, the aforementioned region will be the first to get the update when it rolls out this month. However, it might take a while before it reaches other areas.

LG G2 Mini's bigger brother was treated to Lollipop back in January. It is good to know that its sibling isn't being left out.

Another LG handset, the classy curvy smartphone G Flex 2 recently received Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, which is the newest and possibly the definitive build of the software. It first swept through South Korea, its home fort and now, it has reached United States, Sprint specifically. The update is now rolling out to the LG G Flex 2 units running under the carrier's network. The build number will be changed to LS996ZV6 after the installation of the update.

Android 5.1.1 brings fixes to bugs that came with its immediate predecessor. Also included are improvements on performance and stability as well as the factory reset protection.

It is still unknown which region or carrier is next in line to dress up their LG G Flex 2 with the sweet firmware or when the next rollout will happen, but now that the Lollipop chain has been started, the process is expected to simply flow as it goes.

Those who have yet to receive the update can manually check its availability by going to Settings -> About Phone -> Software updates -> Check for Updates.
