HTC One M9: Specs leaked in new videos, but disappoint gadget watchers

It seems like mobile manufacturers like HTC cannot keep the details about their upcoming products anymore. Just this week, leaked videos revealed the specs of the soon-to-be released HTC One M9 device.

On Feb. 25, popular tipster @upleaks revealed three new videos that showcased all the features of the upcoming flagship handset from the Taiwanese mobile phone manufacturer. The leaked videos confirmed earlier rumors claiming that the HTC One M9 will come out with a 20-megapixel primary camera at the back, as well as a 4-megapixel front-facing secondary camera meant for low-light selfie shots. These cameras are part of the company's new and exclusive smartphone camera feature. The videos also highlighted the impressive Dolby surround sound that will come out from the signature BoomSound speakers that HTC One devices are known for.

Currently, all the videos that were posted online have been removed.

But despite all the features presented in the video, some people who managed to watch them were not impressed with what HTC has to offer. Several comments posted on Android Police expressed utter disappointment from those who are looking forward to see huge improvements in the flagship device of the company.

"I expected a whole redesign/cohesive experience with Sense 7 and Android 5.0 but it looks damn near the same with an 'added feature' here and there. Everyone keeps saying a huge makeover is coming to the S6 so I guess that's really what I'll be looking into now ... I thought HTC wanted to make money but I guess not," one commenter said.

Others, on the other hand, are hoping that the videos were fakes. However, a former HTC product manager confirmed that the contents of the said leaked HTC One M9 videos are indeed real.

Leigh Momii, now associated with Cyanogen, confirmed the validity in her Twitter account, saying, "The whole cat is out of the bag...no surprise there...i'll probably get the gunmetal/black m9."

HTC is expected to officially unveil the HTC One M9 during the Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona, Spain next week.
