Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) vs Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will take place on Thursday in the Indian Premier League cricket T20 tournament, and the Royal Challengers will be hoping to gain a third straight win in this season's competition.

RCB have had a fantastic tournament so far, winning their opening two games, and they will now look to make that three straight wins, which would take them top of the points table.

KKR meanwhile will be disappointed with their performance and result in their last game, and they will want to put that defeat behind them with a win today.

But KKR could be in trouble if RCB's powerful batsmen maintain their excellent form into today's match up. Bangalore have some of the most in form batters in the tournament right now, and if Kolkata cannot dismiss them cheaply then they could easily find themselves falling behind quickly today.

The scary thing got Kolkata is that until now Chris Gayle – one of Bangalore's biggest hitters – has been absent until now. However, he comes back for today's game, meaning that RCB will have an even stronger batting line up.

Even without Gayle's input, Yuvraj Singh, Parthiv Patel and South African import A B de Villiers have led the team's batting line up admirably, and they will be the players that KKR must get out cheaply if they are to have a chance today.

Also skipper Virat Kohli has not really hit his best form yet, and if both he and Gayle come good then the RCB batting line up becomes one of the most fearful in the IPL this season.
