HTC 10 release date news: Global roll-out as phone arrives in India

HTC

With the HTC 10 already released in the U.S. market, its global roll-out continues, as the new flagship is expected to be released in India by the end of the week.

According to Android Central, the roll-out schedule is already confirmed as the manufacturer has sent out invites to the media for a press launch on May 26, presumably to announce the availability of the HTC 10 in India.

While the release is already expected, since the HTC 10 is slated for release worldwide, HTC made the Indian market announcement close to the launch date, so supposed leaks and details are unavailable. It is anticipated, though, that HTC will provide complete details like prices and availability of the new flagship at the event.

Meanwhile, it is also believed that the press launch is for the global variant of the HTC 10. Early in the HTC 10 announcement last month, HTC came out with the HTC 10 Lifestyle, a trimmed-down version of the flagship. HTC said that the 10 Lifestyle iteration will be the company's flagship in some regions. It is believed that India is one of the markets where this version will be unavailable.

However, HTC clarified and confirmed that instead of the Lifestyle variant, the top-tier HTC 10 will be the one to launch in India.

The HTC 10 India launch is the latest in the global release of the new flagship. Early this month, the lineup was made available in some major regions like the U.S., where both the unlocked global model and carrier-specific version made their way to fans. In the U.S., the top-tier HTC 10 is available with Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon. Surprisingly, AT&T has revealed that it will be directly selling the HTC 10. However, the unlocked global version of the flagship is compatible with the carrier's network.
