Golden Globe Awards 2016 live stream: Watch Golden Globes 2016 winners online

The Golden Globe Awards is around the corner and for those who don't want to miss the action, the show-stealing gowns and the dapper dudes, it's best to get ready for Sunday's festivities by knowing where and when to tune in and whom to root for as well.

Ricky Gervais returns to host the Golden Globe Awards 2016NBC

The best part about the award season is predicting who will take home the prize. For starters, online publications are one in saying that the Best Picture Drama will be "Spotlight," which tells the tale of investigate journalists that shed light on the pedophile and sexual abuse happening within the Catholic Church.

By the end of the Golden Globe Awards 2016, the Best Picture Comedy is expected to be "The Big Short," which sees Ryan Gosling, Christian Bale, Steve Carell and Brad Pitt go deep into the underbelly of modern banking as they take advantage of the global collapse of the economy.

Irish sweetheart Saoirse Ronan is expected to take home the Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama for "Brooklyn," although Cate Blanchett is always a major player. For the Best Actor, it appears that everyone is rooting for Leonardo DiCaprio for "The Revenant."

For Best Actress Comedy, Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Schumer are the top contenders but it would not be a surprise to see the latter beat out the "Joy" star. For the category's male counterpart, Matt Damon is presumed to be the big winner for his performance in the not-so-comedic blockbuster "The Martian."

The Golden Globe Awards 2016 is also expected to hail either "Empire" or "Mr. Robot" as the Best TV Series Drama with Rami Malek speculated to be the Best TV actor to beat out Jon Ham. The Comedy counterpart is believed to be a win for "Veep" but the best TV actor for this category may end up being Jeffrey Tambor from "Transparent."

"Inside Out" is expected to snag a win in the Golden Globe Awards 2016 while George Miller and Tom McCarthy are head-to-head for the Best Director award. Check out the complete list of nominees here

Award presenters include Best Actor nominee Eddie Redmayne, Amy Adams, Channing Tatum, Patricia Arquette, Jamie Foxx, JK Simmons, Julianne Moore, Amber Heard, Kate Hudson, Kurt Russell, Jaimie Alexander, Olivia Wilde and Mel Gibson.

Actor-comedian Ricky Gervais will be back for the fourth time as the host of the ceremony, which is set to take place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.
