The world will finally be able to get hold of Destiny today, one of the biggest games that will be released in 2014.

From the creator of Halo comes another highly-anticipated online first-person shooter set in the world of sci-fi fantasy. Destiny reportedly mixes the story-led operations and experience of games like Halo, together with the running gameplay and customized character-building which can usually be found in games like World of Warcraft.

Destiny's story revolves around the guardians who are gathered together by a mysterious and gigantic alien orb.  The orb protects the remaining city on Earth against a huge intergalactic threat. Each player is a guardian tasked to explore the rubbles of the Earth and its outskirts, interacting with or battling against different types of alien races, to solve the story's mystery as well as to improve their own capabilities as a guardian.

The players can enjoy the game's capabilities for character customization. Every detail can be changed and modified, including the weapons and armors, depending on the demands of those who will play the game.

Destiny's developer, Bungie, is the same firm that developed the epic game Halo. Fans of the latter game will easily notice the same treatments between these games, including the epic combats, rapid gameplay, a larger-than-life sci-fi chronicle, as well as a particular hero which could eventually become the game's legend.

The publisher of the game is Activision, the company that also published the popular Call of Duty series. According to reports, Activision released $500 million into the development and marketing of the said game.

Bungie had already announced that Destiny will be released on Sept. 9 on next-gen platforms such as PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. However, PC players are clamoring to get a version of the game so that they can play it as well.  As of now, the PC version is said to be delayed until sometime in 2015.
