'Destiny 2' news, rumors: raid matchmaking to be a feature in the game?

"Destiny 2" will be a fresh experience for both new and old fans of the Bungie franchise. According to the latest reports, the developer will start from scratch in making the game.

It is being said that the game will involve raid matchmaking, which is something that Bungie has been meaning to incorporate in the original.

A NeoGAF member who goes by the name benny_a is claiming that "Destiny 2" will indeed feature raid matchmaking among other exciting changes.

Back in August, world design lead Steve Cotton said that they have been "thinking about [raid matchmaking] a lot" and that the idea is not off the table.

Bungie makes sure that it listens to its fans when it comes to improving the franchise. This is why "Destiny 2" will be getting the raid matchmaking feature.

"We are absolutely listening, and we're absolutely thinking about stuff, and we are also absolutely prioritizing the things that we want to do. So we've prioritized, in a lot of cases, giving players new adventures and new experiences," Cotton told Game Central.

"And then things like private matches, this is the right time to bring that into the game. So, I think it's just about us trying to make the things that we think are the most impactful for each release. And constantly looking at stuff that people are talking about," he went on to say.

Apart from the addition of raid matchmaking to "Destiny 2," another big change in the sequel is that it will reportedly feature brand new characters, locations, and a world's worth of exploration.

But the biggest change Bungie is going for is that the game is allegedly being released to PC. The original game was only playable on the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One. This will not be the case in "Destiny 2," if the reports are anything to go by.

"Destiny 2" is expected to be released sometime next year.
