Derick Dillard and Ben Seewald are taking their responsibilities in stride.

The men married into the large Duggar family with public expectations that they would become fathers soon, and are enjoying their new and very important roles.

Dillard's wife, Jill, became pregnant less than two weeks after their June 21, 2014 wedding, and welcomed baby Israel David on April 6, 2015.

The 25-year-old recently shared a sweet letter he started for his son before his birth and finished during Jill's 70-hour labour.

"Just as the Lord spoke of the nation of Israel, I pray He would accomplish in you," Derick wrote on the Dillard Family Blog. "I pray that you, Israel, whom I already love more than anybody, except mom of course J, would turn to the Lord early in your life and glorify Him with all that is within you."

Last week, he posted a cute photo of baby Israel wearing a striped shirt, big sunglasses, and mitten cuffs.

"The last week has been filled with fun times... and a little less sleep. #newdad #israeldaviddillard," he captioned the Instagram picture.

Ben and Jessa Seewald announced Tuesday that they are expecting their first child, and Ben's first public statements were reflective and prayerful.

"We are trying to take it one day at a time," he told PEOPLE. "We pray every night that God helps us be good parents. We are getting advice from other parents."

Jessa, 22, and Ben, 19, married on November 1, and "19 Kids & Counting" fans have been anticipating her pregnancy announcement. The couple are overjoyed, and their due date is the same as their wedding anniversary.

"We are so excited," Jessa said. "We have started talking baby names. It is one of those things that is so special, picking a name for a baby."

Israel David Dillard's delivery will air on TLC's "19 Kids & Counting" on May 5.
