Christian actress Naturi Naughton, who plays the role of Tasha St. Patrick in the TV series "Power," has done a lot of provocative scenes on the show. Her character has appeared nude, uttered profanities, and even supported the illicit drug trade.

Despite all these things, Naughton says she is careful not to disrespect the church or her Christian faith. Naughton hopes her Christian fans would understand that she is not really Tasha, since she is merely playing a role.

"I'm not going to say it's always easy. It is a bit of an inner conflict sometimes because I want to make sure that people know that I have so much respect for myself, my community, my church home," she tells The Christian Post. "That's why doing films like 'Let the Church Say Amen' are important to me because going from 'Power,' it just shows the diversity of the type of actor that I am. We are not these characters in real life."

Naughton is also not worried how her New Jersey church will receive her no matter what role she chooses to take on. The actress says the only opinion that matters to her is God's.

"I feel like as long as He knows my heart, knows my intention is good, I'm waking up feeling blessed every morning," she says. "So that's all I worry about."

Naughton, who came from the girl group 3LW, says she will always remain committed to God no matter where her success will take her. She is particularly thankful that her parents understand her line of work and never questioned her love for God.

"I think what has been helpful is my parents. They really support me and understand that I'm an actress and they know that the core of who I am hasn't changed," she says. "My faith hasn't changed; my beliefs in God haven't changed."
