Fans are still in awe after watching "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," which is why Marvel is now facing the challenge of topping that off with the much-awaited third installment of the Captain America franchise.

The third movie from this global hit trilogy is scheduled to be released on May 6, 2016. Though there is not too much information about the possible plot of the next film, the leaks and rumors about how the story goes will surely start coming after the release of "Avengers 2: Age of Ultron."

However, "Captain America 3" will be a continuation of the story created by Steve Rogers set in the Marvel universe.

There were times when Marvel would mix up their talents in their movies, but with the success of the first Captain America film, which also happens to be the first Avenger installment, screenwriters Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus were asked to return and write the second installment. This film became a massive success among critics and fans alike.

The duo is currently back to pen the screenplay for the third installment of the franchise. Though the two had been announced to write the plot for the film, its complete and final storyline is still unknown, even by the writers. Yet the two reportedly said that they already know where they want the next movie to go.

According to an interview posted by Den of Geek, Marcus shared a little information about the direction of the story. He said, "We've definitely set out on a more realistic road in the Cap movies, you know. Even more grounded than in the other MCU movies. And so it kind of rules out Cap fighting the Dinosaur Man or something like that. There are some that aren't gonna start and other ones that — I mean there's a couple we're playing with right now that we really want to take elements from. Which we'll not reveal... All I'm saying is psychotic 1950s Cap."

Until the film's release, fans can only speculate about the plot of the film's third installment.
