As part of an exclusivity deal between Sony and Activision, PS4 players got their hands on the Awakening DLC a whole month before "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" players of other consoles.

The DLC was made available to the PS4 last Feb. 2, which means that Xbox One and PC players will finally get a load of the new content on March 3. Gotta Be Mobile expects that the March update containing tweaks and fixes for the game will be released along with the DLC.

With the "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" Awakening DLC, players will get to explore four new and unique maps that put them in various situations and throw at them a mixture of challenges.

The first Awakening DLC map is the Gauntlet, which is located in a military training facility divided into three lanes – a jungle, an arctic zone and an urban area – all of which pack various surprises and tests for players.

The second map from the new "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" DLC is called Splash and it might just be the most colorful setting in the bunch. Splash is located in an abandoned water park packed with waterslides, pirate ships and a river ride. It is also through this map that players can take on Kraken.

Rise is the name of the third map from the "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" Awakening DLC. It's big on classic cover combat and especially caters to players who like to do some wall-running.

The final map is called Skyjacked, a bigger and more punishing reimagining of the Hijacked map in "Black Ops 2." It has new mechanics and features for players to check out.

The "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" Awakening DLC also introduces the first Zombie mission called Der Eisendrache. It is located in a medieval castle atop a nightmarish mountain. Element 115 is peppered on the site. It isn't easy to conquer, which is why four new Zombies Mega Gumballs were provided.
