Britain’s Got Talent star Paul Gbegbaje will be hoping to win over the judges and the audiences when he takes to the stage again tonight for the final.

The 19-year-old has been open about his faith in God and the role that has played in his success.

A report in the Sun newspaper implied that being bullied for his faith at school made him weak, but the self-taught pianist told Premier Christian Radio this week that it actually made him strong.

“I was strong for what I believed, and I stood up for it boldly," he said.

"People would make remarks but I overcame it, I opposed them. They would say stuff but I didn’t let it get to me or weaken me.

"It just made me stronger, and I believe that made me a bigger witness, and a stronger witness.”

Paul prays before his performances and revealed that he feels it’s by God’s hand that he got through to the finals last Saturday.

“I was so honoured to be chosen and given that lifeline.”

Despite his undeniable talent today, just a few years ago Paul was uninterested in the piano.

"He never got near it - he was not interested one bit!" says his dad, Clevy, a church minister who used to lug the church keyboard back to the family home every Sunday for Paul to practise on.

Paul promises something extra special for this Saturday’s final, but kept details close to his heart, saying, “You’re in for a big surprise! You’ll be very entertained.”
