A lot of people have heard about the infamous O.J. Simpson murder case as it was one of the most talked-about news stories back in the 1990s, but "American Crime Story" executive producer Ryan Murphy believes that there are more things to discover about the case.

Murphy, who is also known as one of the geniuses behind other hit shows like "Glee" and "American Horror Story," told USA Today that there are a lot of information about the case that was not revealed to the public, and it will all be featured in the upcoming anthology series to be aired on FX next year.

"Our goal is to show you the behind-the-scenes mechanizations of crimes, stuff that you didn't know," Murphy, who also directs for the series, shared. "When I read the scripts, I didn't know half the stuff (that occurred). I'm like, 'That happened? That happened?' I think people will find them so illuminating. I did."

The first season of the new true crime anthology created by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski is based on the book "The Run of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson" written by Jeffrey Toobin.

It features a star-studded cast composed of Cuba Gooding Jr. as the former professional football star O.J. Simpson, John Travolta as Robert Shapiro, Courtney B. Vance as Johnnie Cochran, David Schwimmer as Robert Kardashian, Sarah Paulson as Marcia Clark, Jordana Brewster as Denise Brown, and Selma Blair as Kris Jenner, among others.

According to Murphy, Gooding Jr. is doing a good job in portraying the controversial role of Simpson.

"Cuba is so talented," the producer-director said. "He's turning in a great performance."

Murphy also admitted that he pursued Travolta to read the scripts for defense team leader Shapiro because he believes that the scripts for the "American Crime Story" is one of the best that he has ever read so far. Fortunately, the actor liked the story and agreed to join the series.

Meanwhile, Blair told Access Hollywood that she is very honored to portray the role of an "extraordinary" woman like Jenner. Although she said that she cannot divulge much about her role in the series, Blair said that she is very glad to be part of the show. She also mentioned how portraying someone like Jenner could be challenging.

"Kris is someone that is so present in our lives that you feel like you can just watch her mannerisms, but [our portrayal is] from such a different time," the actress said.

The 10-episode "American Crime Story" series began filming in Los Angeles in May.
