Eighties pop star and pin-up Adam Ant caused a stir at a charity gig last night when he told Christians in the audience to f*** off.

Adam Ant, 55, real name Stuart Goddard, was supposed to perform a 30-minute set at the Oasis Centre, a religious venue in Portsmouth, near to where he had been enjoying a two-week holiday.

The gig was being held to raise funds for starving children in the Philippines. He performed a cover of Rolling Stones song ‘Sympathy For The Devil’ and invited a child up on stage to teach him the words to The Who’s ‘My Generation’.

When members of the audience started to leave, he broke into a foul-mouthed rant and asked if there were any Christians in the audience. When some raised their hands, he responded by telling them to ‘f*** off’, according to the Daily Mail.

One member of the 300-strong audience, Kevin Johnson, told the newspaper: “Adam’s behaviour was totally unacceptable.

“The Oasis Centre is a religious venue and most of the crowd were devout Christians. He will never be welcomed back.”
