Two seasons have passed and fans of "Under the Dome" are still looking for answers regarding the mysteries surrounding the strange dome that enveloped the town of Chester's Mill. For season 3, all the questions will be finally answered.

In a recent interview with TV Guide, series showrunner Neal Baer talked about the progression of the sci-fi TV series adapted from the novel written by Stephen King. According to Baer, viewers will finally learn more about the mysterious dome and the answers will come as early as the show's two-hour season premiere.

The series showrunner also said that the first information that viewers will learn in the upcoming season is the reason why the dome arrived on the small town, and who or what caused it to appear.

"We'll answer those two questions, and go deep into that question and talk about who is responsible in Chester's Mill, who's not, and what this knowledge does to the citizens who are trapped under the dome," Baer said.

The series showrunner also ruled out some of the most prevalent fan-theories about the dome, including the one saying that it comes from the U.S. military to test a new weapon. Baer also denied that Barbie's (Mike Vogel) father Don (Brett Cullen) is behind the sudden appearance of the dome, but he could have an indirect connection to it.

Meanwhile, Vogel told Yahoo! TV that season 3 will pick up where the series left off last season. The lead actor also said that season 3's plot will take viewers into more interesting directions, and that the residents of Chester's Hill will deal with an internal problem.

"The theme of this year is 'the enemy within.' There is something powerful and terrible happening within the people of Chester's Mill," Vogel said, adding that the first episode of the upcoming season shocked him and the rest of the cast.

The actor also shared that the plot next season will take viewers to darker places that the show have not ventured into before.

"Under the Dome" season 3 premieres on Thursday, June 25, on CBS.  The episode will also be available to view online on CBS.com.
