'Uncharted 4' release date: Features real-time cut-scenes on PlayStation 4

The real-time version of Nathan Drake will now be the regular version of the character in-game for "Uncharted 4."

According to the game's co-lead designer, Anthony Newman, the features of the current-gen hardware have basically enabled them to do things that weren't possible earlier on with other games of the franchise.

Given the capabilities of the PlayStation 4 (PS4) in particular, Newman said he and the game's other developers from Naughty Dog have now been given the chance to change cutscenes and animation done for "Uncharted 4," according to IGN.

According to Newman, "Uncharted 4" will handle cutscenes in a way that players will not distinctly see any significant difference between the time when they are in control of the character, and when a scene is taking place. Instead of black bars coming onscreen and indicating that what is currently taking place is something the players cannot control, the transition will now be seamless, and those black bars will not be appearing at all.

In addition, Newman also said that the more highly detailed Nathan Drake that players used to only see during cutscenes will now be the one players are in control off all the time. Newman points to the technical capabilities of the current-gen hardware making the change possible. 

"Uncharted 4" will also include motion blur, according to Eurogamer. The new visual addition helps the game achieve a more cinematic aesthetic, giving players more reasons to fawn over the stunning graphics of the upcoming action and adventure title. 

The game's developers have also poured in more hours in order to add more detail to the game. Visual elements such as Drake's hair and clothes will now move in accordance to where the player is going and even according to how the wind may be blowing.

The visual changes made to "Uncharted 4" can be seen firsthand when the game is released in the first half of 2016.
