Trailer for Ray Comfort's 'Audacity' film back again on YouTube after its removal

Evangelist Ray Comfort's newest film "Audacity," which tackles homosexuality and same-sex marriage, has a new trailer out on YouTube.

However, after receiving 130,000 views, the video was pulled down. Comfort at first thought there was foul play involved, but after asking for an explanation from YouTube, he found out the reason why it was yanked out.

Subsequently, after Comfort and his team addressed YouTube's concerns, the original video trailer and all of the original links were put back in again.

"The trailer had been removed as a violation of YouTube's policy against spam, scams, and commercially deceptive content,'" said Comfort. "But since we found nothing in it that fit that description, we naturally concluded that YouTube didn't like the content and yanked it."

However, Comfort was later told by YouTube that "we had violated their metadata policy."

"We had added a list of keywords in the video description section, not knowing that was against their company policy," the filmmaker said.

Comfort said his team quickly tackled the issue, leading to the reinstatement of the trailer in YouTube.

"This is a good lesson for us to thoroughly research such things so we don't violate policy and to avoid jumping to judgment," said Comfort. "While we appreciate the many people who supported us in this incident, we offer our sincere apologies to YouTube for wrongly suspecting them of blame, and also to news organisations who kindly carried the story."

Comfort earlier fumed over the removal of the movie's trailer, and surmised that someone from YouTube saw it and therefore decided to give it the axe. His movie tackles the foundation that homosexuals, just like people of colour, are born just as they are, so they should not be discriminated against.
