The latest season of the most-anticipated anime, "Tokyo Ghoul" will be delayed to March 2017, with Studio Madhouse taking over from Studio Pierrot.

Last year, the third season of this anime was announced, with its official release scheduled in 2016. However, due to the sheer lack of material, the premiere of this season will be pushed back to 2017 in order to stay more faithful to the material.

After all, before becoming an anime, "Tokyo Ghoul" was a manga made by Sui Ishida, and by the time the anime's first season premiered, a lot of fans noticed the stunning amount of difference that made them feel shortchanged. This was also held true with the second season, and with the advent of the 3rd installment next year, fans are hoping that, by delaying its release, the anime's plotline will be more or less the same as the one in the manga.

This might prove to be quite a feat on FUNimation's part, though, since the manga is only at 43 chapters. As such, it would be expected that the third season of "Tokyo Ghoul" will have more unique content.

But whatever the case may be, in a report by Anime Maru, the plot of the third season revolves around the iconic character, Touka Kirishima, who apparently didn't play much of a role in the previous season. Basically, the story will focus on the grueling details of Touka's descent to madness in her college application process. In the same report, they were able to take a hold of the anime writer who went by the alias of Bob in order to prevent possible backlash from fans.

"This is perhaps the most disillusioning, psychological and darkest plot line that we will attempt to adapt," Bob told the Anime Maru staff in the interview. "We hope to remain as faithful as possible to the source material, although we cannot guarantee that more gory scenes such as Touka's standardized exam test-taking will not be censored."
