The mysterious giver known as "Tips for Jesus" left his largest tip yet at a Phoenix bar on Saturday, reports Fox News.

After leaving a generous $1,000 on his first tab at Crudo, he opened a second tab and left $10,000.

Bartender Clint Spotleson said that he originally handed the stranger and his female companion a bill for $331.40.

"The first one he just filled out and left on the table," Spotleson told The Republic. The man left over 300 per cent tip on that tab.

"Then he was like, 'You know, I'll have another round.' Then the second one, he was like, 'Let's have fun with this one.' And he said to his friend, 'Put 10K on this one.' And she was like, 'OK.'"

The second bill was for $89.89, and the man left $10,089.89. Spotleson said he was in shock, but did not show much emotion.

"I kept composure because the guests were right in front of me at the time," he explained. "We still had seven or eight people in the bar at the time. I just acted like nothing really happened."

The bartender also demonstrated generosity by splitting the huge tips with another bartender and Crudo's kitchen staff.

"It's unreal," Spotleson said of the timely gift. "I'm up and I'm going to the bank now. It's crazy, absolutely crazy. And it's cool too, because I've been having some car issues."

Tips for Jesus generally leaves anywhere from a $500 to $10,000 tip on his restaurant bills, no matter how small the total is. He sometimes rubberstamps the receipt with "#tipsforJesus," or a thumbs-up and "Tips for Jesus" message.

Although the signature on the receipts vary, the user generally presents an American Express credit card. The donor's home base appears to be in the San Francisco area, and some servers and media outlets have identified him as former Paypal executive Jack Selby.
