As previously reported, "Game of Thrones" season 6 will premiere before author George R.R. Martin will be able to finish and release "The Winds of Winter," the sixth book in the saga that "Game of Thrones" is based on. Despite the show coming out first, a new report reveals that the book will still have major plot twists that the show will not be able to tackle.

Speaking to IGN, Martin revealed that the HBO series will never be able to replicate the major plot twist he has integrated into the book because the show killed off a character that is still alive in the books. By including this major plot twist the story of the books and the television series will continue to become separate entities.

"It is fairly obvious because it is something that involves a couple of characters, one of which is dead on the show, and not dead in the books," the author explained. "So the show can't do it, unfortunately, because they have killed someone I have not killed."

Unfortunately, as a report from Screen Rant points out, there are over a dozen characters that have different fates in the books compared to the television show. However, many fans speculate that this important plot twist may involve Jeyne Westerling, the wife of Robb Stark, or Stannis Baratheon. 

Stannis was killed off at the end of "Game of Thrones" season 5 and the character of Jeyne was replaced by Talisa, a character who shared a similar story but was killed off during the infamous Red Wedding. Jeyne Westerling in the books was not present during the Red Wedding and is currently living as one of the royal hostages of the Lannisters.

Other speculations include that of Lady Stoneheart, the resurrected version of Catelyn Stark. Lady Stoneheart does not exist in the television series, which means any plot developments regarding her character do not exist in "Game of Thrones."
