The Salvatore holidays won't be danger-free as Damon and Stefan continues to take down Julian. In the midseason finale (episode 9) of "The Vampire Diaries" season 7 titled "Cold as Ice," the brothers will get to witness an atrocious "Santa's Slay."

Needless to say, the duo's Christmas will be a mix of eggnog and the usual bloodbath. The synopsis for the installment teases that Stefan and Damon will find themselves hurtling away from Mystic Falls as they continue to track down Lily's murderous man-crush.

However, it looks like Damon's volatility will put him and his brother at odds and in grave danger. Spoilers indicate that Damon and Stefan's lives will never be the same after the latter decides to deal with the problem without checking with Stefan.

Meanwhile, according to Entertainment Weekly, the upcoming "The Vampire Diaries" season 7 installment will be big on Damon. In fact, the elder Salvatore will be in nearly every scene of the episode, if not the entire hour. Fans will even be treated to a Civil War flashback of Damon.

But it looks like the spotlight on Damon is just the beginning. When the show returns next year, he will also be the focus of the midseason premiere. During an interview with Variety, Ian Somerhalder, who plays the role, teased that episode 10 "was really about Damon."

"It was a Civil War episode. I was covered in dirt and gunpowder with things blowing up around me," Somerhalder detailed, adding that the installment was "so well-executed" and "on point."

The midseason finale of "The Vampire Diaries" season 7 will also see the holiday cheer creep in to Bonnie and heretic Nora, who unexpectedly hangs out during a toy drive at Whitmore College. Meanwhile, Caroline's struggle in her pregnancy worries Alaric.

"The Vampire Diaries" season 7 midseason finale "Cold as Ice" airs Dec. 10 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
