After several months of anticipation for a release date, fans of "The 100" finally know when to expect for the show's third season.

IGN reported that the post-apocalyptic drama series will debut its third season the same day as The CW's newest addition, "Legends of Tomorrow." Both shows will premiere on Jan. 21, with the latter taking the 8 p.m. EST slot and the former the 9 p.m. EST slot.

The news outlet also informed that "The 100" season 2 has been added to Netflix. Viewers can now watch all episodes on the streaming service.

Not much has been revealed about season 3, but executive producer Jason Rothenberg has been generous enough to keep fans updated about the show.

When "The 100" took its long break from airing, Rothenberg has been active on Twitter, providing fans teasers to the series and even answering some questions.

As previously reported, the executive producer mentioned that one of the episodes was shot in Brazil. Rothenberg also commented on the relationship development between Clarke (Eliza Taylor) and Bellamy (Bob Morley), describing it as "amazing."

"From him wanting to cut off her hand, to being partners, to where they are in S3 is an amazing journey," Rothenberg revealed in his tweet.

In a more recent tweet, Rothenberg also announced that a trailer for "The 100" season 3 is in the works, which he promised to be "epic." However, there's still a lot of process to go through before the trailer gets approved, he admitted.

On Nov. 19, Rothenberg also posted on Twitter about a "big news" concerning the show that should arrive "at any time." And now that the official premiere date has been announced, does it mean that the big news has been finally revealed, or could there be more to it?

For now, the great news is that fans will no longer have to wait further. In the meantime, those who have yet to see the drama can catch up on the episodes on Netflix.
