'Terminator Genisys' Schwarzenegger says Terminator 4 sucked

Arnold Schwarzenegger has long been known to be the prime reason for the rise of the Terminator franchise, having starred in most of the Terminator films. All except for the fourth one, "Terminator: Salvation" (2009) which was somehow not well received by fans who have followed the franchise.

And apparently Schwarzenegger was not shy about expressing himself as well. Everyone knows that Schwarzenegger was not around in "Terminator: Salvation," a film which starred Christian Bale, Helena Bonham Carter and Sam Worthington instead.

Despite having those popular names in there, the film was far from the Terminator hype many gave when Schwarzenegger was around. And when the former US governor and body builder was asked about his thoughts on the said film, he summed it up in two words: "It sucked!"

Harsh as the reaction may have been, Schwarzenegger's frank opinion mattered. He has long been associated with the said franchise and hopefully his return in Terminator Genisys could return the expectations of Terminator fans once more.

And the best part is that it isn't just a one shot deal.

Schwarzenegger reveals that "Terminator Genisys" is just the first film in a planned new sequel trilogy. However, it would be best to measure first on how well the film performs in the box office before looking ahead despite Schwarzenegger already signing up for the sixth installment.

Aside from the returning Schwarzenegger, other stars appearing on "Terminator Genisys" are Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor, Jason Clarke as John Connor and Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese. J.K. Simmons, Matt Smith and Lee Byung-hun are also in the cast.

"Terminator: Genisys" will focus on Kyle Reese traveling back in time to protect Sarah Connor yet again but in an alternate timeline.

Terminator Genisys is set to make its premiere on July 1, 2015.
