'Survivor: Kaoh Rong' premiere: The idol just got mega-powerful

"Survivor" season 32 aka "Survivor: Kaoh Rong" will definitely be extra exciting. Not only will the latest season of the long-running competitive reality television series mark the return of the idol, but the important piece of trinket also comes with a new set of powers.

Host Jeff Probst teased during an interview with Entertainment Weekly that the hidden immunity idol will be used in the upcoming "Survivor" season "like never before" and that it comes with "two separate powers" players will certainly fight for.

"If you find an idol, it has the regular powers of a normal idol, but when put together with another idol — two can actually fit together — they can be used as one super idol that can be played after the votes are read," Probst said on how the idol can be exploited in "Survivor: Kaoh Rong."

This should be a perfect way for players in danger of being eliminated in the game to save themselves. In the previous seasons, contestants will have to use their instinct if an idol is to be used to dodge elimination. But with the super-idol, a player can actually veto what everyone else has decided.

"If you find someone else who has an idol and you are willing to combine your idols and play them together for one move, then you can play the idol after the votes have been cast and after they have been read," Probst further explained, calling the super-idol a "free pass."

"Survivor: Kaoh Rong" also allows players with one respective hidden immunity idol to put them together and use it as a super-idol. However, players should make sure that they have strong alliance with the one they team up with, since one of them is actually giving up their protection to save the other.

An interesting twist to this super-idol integration is that players who find hidden idols will be the only people who will know about it, unless of course they share the info with an alliance member. But Probst believes that such powerful idol will just come as outrageous to those who don't have it.

"Survivor: Kaoh Rong" premieres Feb. 17 on CBS.
