It's the greatest story of all time told through books, icons, songs, TV and film... Christians have developed many ways of learning the story of Jesus over the generations. Now, the 21st Century is offering a new perspective on the events of Jesus' life – virtual reality.

VR is taking off as a consumer technology and an increasing number of productions are being made available – and now a new virtual reality film will take viewers inside the life of Jesus.

Jesus VR – The Story of Christ will contain many of the key moments from the Gospels and producers promise that the viewer will feel immersed in the events.

Christian films have a track record of attracting big viewing figures but because the VR technology is very new, it's hard to know how many will end up watching Jesus VR when it's released later this year.

The film is being shot in Italy and is expected to feature scenes such as the Wedding at Cana and the Sermon on the Mount.

Producer and Director David Hansen said, "The viewers truly feel they are there with Jesus and his disciples...This is the most powerful story of all time and virtual reality is the perfect way to tell it."
