'Steven Universe' season 2B spoilers, plot news: Lapis Lazuli will save Peridot and Steven

 Cartoon Network

Cartoon Network has yet to announce when more episodes of "Steven Universe" season 2 will officially be released, but several clips of upcoming episodes have begun to leak online. According to a report from the IB Times, one of these leaked clips focuses on Lapis Lazuli using her powers to save Steven and Peridot.

The clip begins with Lapis Lazuli and Steven together as they stand over a broken device. It is surmised that Steven is sad because the gift is most likely from Peridot, but Lapis Lazuli may have rejected the gift and then broke it. Steven remarks at this, stating that there is little chance of Peridot coming back.

However, almost immediately after saying this, Peridot comes running back, except that she is now being chased by a spaceship. The three take refuge in a nearby barn but the spaceship continues to pursue. With nowhere left to go, Steven decides he'll fight back, but before he can even make a move, Lapis Lazuli steps forward and uses her powers to flick the spaceship away.

According to the report, the title for the episode may be "Barn Mates" and that it will focus primarily on the budding relationship between Peridot and Lapis Lazuli. The gift shown in the clip may have been Peridot's attempt at forming their friendship but this offer had been rejected.

Cartoon Network has yet to make any announcement regarding the episodes' final titles and release dates, so it is likely that "Barn Martes" may change its title and that it won't necessarily be a part of the next few episodes to launch for the network.

The network is also known for releasing approximately five episodes in a single week, known as "Stevenbombs," before going on a hiatus that can last weeks or months before the next batch of episodes are launched. This has been the longest hiatus yet, with the last episode airing as far back as Jan. 8.
