"Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens" may still be far off but everyone knows that in events such as Comic-Con a lot of spoilers are bound to come out.

Although many were hoping for a trailer to be shown during the event, it did not happen. Rather, folks were given some big revelations concerning the characters set to appear in the film as well as some of the movie's settings.

Among the characters that were revealed include Admiral Ackbar, who is a squid-looking commander of the rebellion fleet from "Star Wars Episode 6: Return of the Jedi" (recall that massive rebellion attack towards the latter part of the movie) and is best known for the line "It's A Trap!"

Ackbar didn't have much of an appearance in "Return of the Jedi" but it looks like the rebellion commander will have a larger role this time around.

On the evil side, there is a new character in General Hux, the villain in charge of the Starkiller base. Hux will be portrayed by Domhnall Gleeson, who is also known for his role as Bill Weasley in the Harry Potter movies.

In "The Force Awakens", Gleeson will be in charge of the Starkiller base and will play a major villainous role in the said film.

Aside from the two characters, J.J. Abrams gave the audience at Comic-Con an idea of the film's setting. The movie will take place several years after the attack on the Death Star and the battle on Planet Endor. Although it was believed that the Empire fell that day, it actually did not and the rebellion were still trying to hold their own.

Capping all that off is that the seventh Star Wars episode will not depend a lot on CGI effects but more on special effects and costumes.

For now, those are the latest information on "The Force Awakens." The movie is slated to be released on Dec. 18, 2015 so expect a whole lot more of reveals and rumors tied to the upcoming film.
