Christian country singer Rory Feek, who lost his wife Joey recently due to cervical cancer, thought that moving back to Tennessee where he built a farm with his late wife would enable him to remember all the good memories they shared together.

However, he was heartbroken to find out that he couldn't. "All I could remember of her was the end. The five months of dying. The Joey that had no hair and couldn't get out of bed. The mother that could barely hold the baby she loved. And the life we held together by a song, in the brick house by the Gaither's pond," he writeson his blog.

For one whole month, that was how Rory felt, and he feared that he had lost the memories of his precious wife for good. Luckily for him, he remembered that he started filming their life together back in January 2014. When he started filming, Rory did not think he was capturing anything important because all he got were their regular, day-to-day activities.

But reliving all those simple yet happy memories is important to him now, because it brought Joey back to him—the Joey who was "filled with love and joy and hope and passion for me and for the life God had given us."

"It's a moment in time that stands still. A moment that remains, even though time has moved on," he says. "I love that. There are hundreds of these moments that I captured. Maybe more. And they all add up to a bigger story that God was telling with our lives."

Watching those videos is especially "healing" for Rory, and he believes it can be for others who are suffering from grief as well.

"I still have much, much more of our lives to look through. A thousand little clips to watch and try to piece together. And I will get to see Joey live through it all," he says. "Whatever it is, it's a gift from heaven for me these days."
