'Pokémon Z' release date in 2016: what to expect

Legendary Pokémon ZygardeNintendo

A lot of rumors have been popping up recently regarding "Pokémon Z," but prior to diving in to those more detailed rumblings, it's worth it to discuss the one pertinent to when the game might be coming out.

According to PC Advisor UK, the vast fan base of the popular franchise is now convinced that "Pokémon Z" is coming soon, with an expected 2016 release in the cards.

Upon its release, it will reportedly be available on the Nintendo 3DS.

Coming out in 2016 means that it's official release would take place three years from the arrival of "Pokémon X and Y."

Now that the rumors concerning the possible release date of the game have been dealt with, it's now time to dive deeper into the other theories related to the supposed star of the new title.

As of now, it's widely expected that a creature by the name of Zygarde will be the Legendary Pokémon featured in the new game, but there may be more to this mysterious being than what might have been previously believed.

There appears to be five different forms of Zygarde, and what's interesting is there looks to be a progression of growth related to this Pokémon.

According to Movie Pilot, the name Zygarde actually came from the word zygote and that factors into how this Pokémon is shown throughout the game.

Zygarde's first form is him as a cell, a non-descript creature that appears to move around by crawling. From that, he grows into his core form wherein he begins to stand upright even though he still has no legs to stand on. The Pokémon then advances into its 10 percent form, where Zygarde now more resembles a dog. His fourth and 50 percent form then has him losing his legs again but developing a kind of mane. Zygarde's complete form shows him as a fully upright creature with enormous limbs and a sinister look in his eyes.

It's unclear if all five forms of Zygarde will be present in "Pokémon Z."
