"Pokemon GO" players have learned to make good use of their captured Eevee with the simple trick of changing its name to another designation to activate forced evolution, but this does not apply on its two other evolved forms Espeon and Umbreon, although a trick appears to have been dug up to make that happen.

First as a refresher, players can evolve their Eevee to its water-type form Vaporeon by changing its name to Rainer. Renaming it Pyro can get users its fire-type evolution Flareon while using the name Sparky can evolve it to its electric type Jolteon.

"Pokemon GO" players would want to restart the game and make sure it is not running in the background and launch it again to make sure the new names, and therefore the evolution, registers.

However, Pokemon GO Informer warns that the trick can only work once per evolution. That means that only one Eevee in the Pokedex of players will likely be evolved with the name-change. Doing it on another will likely make for a futile attempt.

Meanwhile, Eevee is known to get two more evolutions. That is its psychic type Espeon and its dark type evolved version Umbreon. Unfortunately, the name change trick does not apply here.

Instead, players are advised by some media outlets to evolve Eevee to Espeon between 6 a.m. and 5:59 p.m. local time. The rest of the day, they can try for Umbreon.

However, there's the slight problem that Espeon and Umbreon are still not officially added in the "Pokemon GO" roster although they are expected to be added in the Gen 2 update for the game.

However, as per reports, players will have to wait until next year to see Umbreon and Espeon. For now, fans can try the trick while waiting for the Gen 2 update to come around.

Apart from Eevee, 11 more Pokemon are reportedly getting new forms in the said update.
