"Rocket League" is due to receive some new items courtesy of free downloadable content (DLC) coming out for the game.

Players will reportedly need not worry about paying for the new content as the game's developer, Psyonix, is planning to make the DLC available for free. The new items are part of Psyonix's efforts to make up for the problematic servers gamers have had to deal with ever since the game was first launched.

According to iDigital Times, the problems are being caused by the game's servers needing to be online for long periods of time. "Rocket League" already has quite a significant following online, counting over two million players ever since the game was first release, making it one of the most unexpected hits of the year. The problems are isolated to the multiplayer mode of the game.

As for what new items the free DLC will actually deliver, Psyonix has so far offered no specifics on what they might be. The only new addition players have gotten a look at thus far is the new set of wheels featuring a skull design. It is unclear just how many new items Psyonix is planning to release.

Psyonix has also neglected to offer any release date for the free DLC, so players have no other choice than to sit and wait for the new content to arrive.

In related news, a new patch is also set to come out for "Rocket League," according to PlayStation Lifestyle. The new patch is expected to fix many of the issues currently plaguing the game.

Psyonix is also currently implementing a number of fixes to help improve the overall experience of the game. The gaming company has already altered their Daily Reminder mechanic to help server load and they have also conducted server resets to try to address the issues with the game.
