New Canon Chancellor at Lichfield Cathedral

The Rev Dr Anthony Moore has been appointed as Canon Chancellor of Lichfield Cathedral.

Dr Moore is current Dean of Chapel, Fellow and Chaplain of St Catharine's College Cambridge.

He has a degree in Music from Exeter University, where he was both an Organ Scholar and Senior Choral Scholar, and was ordained in the Diocese of Blackburn in 1999.

In his current role in Cambridge, Anthony provides pastoral care and support for the staff and student body.

He teaches New Testament studies to undergraduates, oversees college worship and has an interest in and experience of working with people of other faiths.

Besides his musical interests, Dr Moore has qualified as a Royal Yachting Association Day Skipper.

Announcing his appointment, the cathedral said Dr Moore had a "keen sense of the missionary opportunities a cathedral is able to develop through its life and worship, its welcome and accessibility".

He will be installed as Canon Chancellor on 19 January 2013 and hopes to move to Lichfield very early in January.
